Had a pro call out my edge banding at a job site last month

Guy told me my glue line looked like a drunk ran it, and he was right. I switched from a trim router bit to a flush trim chisel and the difference is night and day. Any of you still fighting with routers for banding?

My neighbor whos been doing cabinets since the 80s showed me his trick - he uses a sharp block plane for the final pass on edge banding. I tried it after watching him knock off a 1/64" in like two seconds flat. The glue line disappears completely because the plane cuts through the veneer and glue together. I still use the router for rough trimming but that block plane step changed everything for me.

@emmajackson that plane trick sounds amazing. Never thought about cutting through the glue like that.
