Rant: Why I finally stopped using pocket hole screws for face frames

Honestly, for 3 years I was all about pocket holes for face frames because it's fast and easy. But last month I had a job in Austin where the humidity made a frame shift and the joint failed on me. My old timer buddy Mike at the shop convinced me to try domino joiners on the next one, and the strength difference is night and day. Anyone else made the switch and notice a big difference in stability?

Oh man, I used to totally be the person rolling my eyes at domino joiners thinking they were just an extra expense. Then I had this nightmare of a cabinet install where nothing was square and the biscuits just weren't cutting it. Borrowed a friend's domino and it honestly changed my whole approach. The way it locks everything into place without slipping is just so much easier than messing with alignment pins or clamps. Now I actually look for excuses to use it on projects, lol.
