Tried Baltic birch over regular plywood for my last job in Denver

I usually go with cheap plywood for cabinet boxes, but a client wanted Baltic birch for their kitchen remodel. I figured why not, so I built the whole set with it. Honestly, the weight difference was way more than I expected, but the screw holding was insane. Have you guys had better luck with Baltic birch for face frames or just boxes?

yo my buddy had the exact same thing happen - he built his sister's entire kitchen with baltic birch and said the same about the screw holding. but then he tried using it for face frames too and said it was a nightmare to route the inside edges for the doors. ended up having to switch to poplar just for the frames.

Double down on that poplar for face frames, it routes so clean compared to birch. Your buddy probably saved a ton of time not fighting tearout on the inside edges. Definitely worth the switch for that part of the build.
