My cousin had a filter that wouldn't budge for weeks. She left the whole camera in a ziplock bag overnight and it twisted right off in the morning. Totally saved her from having to buy a new lens.

Wait, is a stuck filter really enough to make you need a whole new lens? That seems like a huge jump. I've had filters get stuck before and just used a rubber jar opener to get them off. The bag trick works but it's not like the lens is broken.
