My cheap sleeping pad kept slipping on the tent floor during a trip to the Smokies.
I tried a trick from an old hiker: cut a few pieces of that grippy shelf liner and put them under the pad. It held solid all night, even on a slight slope. Has anyone else found a good fix for this without buying a whole new pad?

My buddy had the same problem on a trip last fall. His pad was sliding all over the place inside his tent. He ended up putting a few dabs of silicone sealant on the bottom in little dots, letting it dry completely first of course. It created these tiny grippy feet. It worked pretty well for him, and it was basically free since he already had the tube of sealant. The shelf liner trick sounds a lot less messy though.

Try putting your tent footprint inside the tent under the pad for extra grip.

My old pad was a total slip and slide on the tent floor. I cut a piece of that rubbery mesh drawer liner to fit under it, the kind you get at a dollar store. It locks the pad in place perfectly and it's cheap as hell. The stuff doesn't absorb water either, so it won't get funky. Best fix I've found without gluing anything.
