Why does nobody talk about fixing zippers with candle wax?
My sleeping bag zipper kept sticking after a rainy trip. I rubbed a bit of candle wax on the teeth and it slides like new now. What other household items have you used for gear fixes?

Seriously? Candle wax is the classic fix. It's like the first rule of gear repair. A bar of soap works in a pinch too. But wax is better, it lasts longer and doesn't wash out as fast. I always keep a stub of a candle in my kit.
