Drove myself crazy for 3 hours trying to fix a cancelled influencer's deleted apology video

I spent a whole afternoon last week trying to recover that TikTok apology video from that girl who got cancelled for faking a charity thing at PetSmart, but every wayback machine link I tried was broken. Has anyone else wasted a ton of time digging up deleted receipts that just aren't out there anymore?

Yeah this happens with everything now. People record their whole lives but it all gets deleted or buried. I tried finding an old recipe video my grandma posted on Facebook and it was just gone, no trace anywhere. Makes you wonder how much history we're just losing to the void every day.

Maybe it's just me but do you think companies like Facebook or YouTube actually want us to have access to that old stuff? Like they'd rather we just keep scrolling on new content instead of digging up memories from years ago. I wonder if there's some kind of profit motive behind making old posts invisible or deleting them altogether. You'd think they'd want the sentimental stuff to keep people hooked but instead it just vanishes.
