The whole James Charles thing last week got way too much hate for something that was basically a miscommunication

I was following the drama on Twitter and everyone was piling on because he apparently copied someone's makeup look. But I watched both videos side by side and the looks weren't even that similar beyond using similar colors. People just saw the callout post and jumped in without checking the actual evidence. It felt like a mob mentality thing where nobody wanted to be the one defending him. I've been following makeup artists for 5 years and I see way more similar looks go unnoticed all the time. My sister works at Ulta and she said customers were parroting the hate without knowing the details. Why do we always assume the worst about people before hearing their side?

honestly I just started muting keywords during drama cycles and my timeline got way less toxic.

135 keywords muted here and counting, @bettyh84. Honestly it's like a game of whack-a-mole every time a new fandom war starts. Ngl though, my timeline's basically just cat pics now and I'm fine with that.
