5 years of fighting rattles in my 97 Civic ended last Tuesday
I've had this old Civic since 2019. Drove me crazy with a rattle from the passenger door. Took the panel off three times, stuffed foam everywhere. Nothing worked. Last week my neighbor saw me cursing at it. He pointed out the license plate bracket was loose. Two zip ties and 10 minutes later, dead silent. Anyone else chase a phantom noise for years only to find it was something stupid simple?

Oh man, this hit me right in the soul. Had a 2002 Corolla that drove me absolutely nuts for a whole year with a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the dashboard. Took the glovebox off, shoved foam blocks behind the radio, even taped some coins to the wiring harness. Finally my buddy rides with me and he's like "dude, is that your sunglasses case bouncing around in the door pocket?" Sure enough, my cheap plastic case had a broken hinge and was just vibrating against the door card whenever I hit a bump. Felt like such a fool, but honestly it's the best feeling when you finally find it and it costs nothing to fix.

Drove myself crazy for months over a loose interior trim clip only to realize it was just a penny wedged under my floor mat.
