Left accounting to drive a food truck six months ago
I was sitting in a cubicle at Deloitte for 4 years and felt dead inside. Now I make half the money but actually wake up excited to go to work. How do you handle the guilt of taking a pay cut when everyone tells you you're throwing your career away?

The guilt fades way faster when you realize nobody's paying your bills with their opinion lol

Did you have people in your life telling you were wasting your CPA license? That was the hardest part for me. I did the same thing basically, switched from tax accounting to running a small bookstore, and yeah the money is way less. But I stopped waking up at 3am with my jaw clenched and that felt worth more than any bonus. The guilt faded after about a year when I realized my old coworkers weren't actually happier than me, they were just better at pretending.
