Sunrise huddles changed how our framing crew works

On a recent job for a two-story addition, we always had our daily review after lunch. It felt right to touch base when we were all there. But I noticed work slowed way down after that. One morning, our crew chief was stuck in traffic, so we just began from the plan we knew. We got the west wall up before break. Now, we meet for five minutes at 7 AM with our coffee. Everyone knows the day's goal from the start. It's not fancy, but it keeps things moving.

Have you ever tried shifting meetings to the morning after seeing afternoon slumps? My old crew used to regroup after lunch and it killed our momentum every single time. Switching to a quick morning huddle made us way more focused because we started with a clear target. We stopped wasting hours fixing mistakes and just got straight to work. I pushed hard for this change after seeing how much faster jobs finished. Did your crew fight the new schedule at first?

Disagree completely, @emma_mitchell, our best ideas always hit after lunch.

Try telling my crew to meet before noon, @emma_mitchell. They acted like I was asking them to solve world hunger before coffee.
