I finally had the worst week ever with my $800 Buick
Last Monday the alternator died on the way to work, then on Wednesday the brake line blew out in a Target parking lot. Has anyone else had a car that just falls apart all in one week?

Oh man, I gotta disagree with you on this one. An $800 Buick that made it to a whole week before falling apart is practically a miracle. I've had beaters that didn't make it out of the driveway before something snapped. You got your money's worth out of that thing the day you bought it, everything after that is just bonus miles.

nah I'm with you, my $500 Ford Taurus did the exact same thing last summer. Alternator went out on a Monday, then the radiator cracked Tuesday night. Felt like the car was actively trying to bankrupt me that week. But real talk, that's just what happens when you buy a car that cheap. You're basically gambling that everything held together with hope and duct tape will last one more trip. I think the_jason nailed it though, getting a whole week out of an $800 Buick is almost unheard of. Most of those things have been passed around so many times they're held together by rust and prayers. Honestly you probably got off easier than most, at least yours made it to a Target parking lot instead of dying on the interstate at 2am
