Overheard a guy at the grocery store say cash is "for old people and criminals"

I was standing in line at the Safeway on 12th street yesterday buying eggs and milk, and this guy behind me bragged to his friend that he hasn't touched cash in 5 years. Called it outdated and basically laughed at people who use it. But here's the thing, I paid with a $20 bill and was out of there in 30 seconds while he fumbled with a chip reader that wouldn't work. Has anyone else dealt with that judgment from folks who think cash is somehow shameful?

Tall order for some guy smug about five years cash-free like it's an achievement. The chip reader glitch is real and happens way too often, cash just works no matter what. Respect the speed of a $20 bill, no system failure can touch that.
