Just wasted $80 on a 'professional' mandoline that sliced my thumb open on the first onion
Has anyone found a good, safe brand that doesn't feel like a kitchen guillotine?

Always thought the hand guard was just a silly extra, until I had to superglue my own finger shut. Now I won't touch one without that plastic safety clip thing. The cheap ones with the big guards actually work better than the fancy exposed blades.
