Hot take: My local library's solar panels are way more exciting than they sound
I went to the downtown branch last Tuesday to return some books and noticed they added a little display showing real-time energy savings from their rooftop solar install. It said they've already cut their electric bill by 30% since January, which is like $400 a month they can spend on programs. Has anyone else seen public buildings in your area sharing their energy data like this?

$400 a month adds up fast over a few years, wonder if any of that savings goes back into expanding their digital collection or fixing up the old building's leaky roof.

Oh wow, that's a really good point actually lol. Do you think libraries actually track how much they save per user or is it more of a rough estimate they toss out for grant applications? I'm curious if that $400 number accounts for things like interlibrary loans or just physical books they have on the shelf.
