I swapped my car for a bike for a month in Seattle and it changed my whole view

I tried biking to work for 30 days to save gas, but the real shock was my grocery bill dropping by almost $40 because I stopped buying snacks on impulse drives. I learned my car trips were costing me more than just fuel, they were making me spend without thinking. Has anyone else cut out a driving habit and been surprised by what else changed?

Whoa, that snack thing is so real. It makes me think about when I got rid of my car for a while and my whole weekend routine fell apart. I used to just drive to the mall or a store when I was bored, and suddenly I had to actually plan my time. I ended up reading a lot more books I already owned instead of buying new stuff. It's wild how much of our spending is just tied to being able to go somewhere easy.

Totally get that. Went without a car for six months and my impulse buys dropped to zero. Had to actually look at what was in my own pantry instead of just running out for snacks. Felt like I broke some weird spell.
