My neighbor in Boise changed my mind about solar panels with one question

I always thought solar was too expensive and a hassle, but my neighbor Mark asked me last month, 'Have you seen the new city rebate numbers?' He showed me the paperwork where his setup cost dropped by almost 40% with the local incentive and a federal credit. Now I'm looking into it for my own place, but I'm worried about our old roof.
