That one week my car broke down and everything went wrong at once
I dropped out of community college in 2019 to save money, but that winter I had the worst week. My timing belt snapped on I-95 outside Richmond on a Monday, cost me $1,200 to fix. Then my landlord said rent was going up $150 starting next month. I slept on my buddy's couch for three nights trying to figure out how to pay both bills. Has anyone else had a week where life just piled on like that?

That timing belt really said "let me finish you off" at the worst possible moment. Landlords love to kick you right when you're down, don't they? Sounds like the universe decided to run a full stress test on you in one week. Good thing you had a buddy with a couch, at least something went right. Hope you're back on your feet now and your car isn't giving you any more surprises.

Man, @rowan593 is absolutely right about the universe running a stress test. I remember back in 2018 I had a similar week where my fridge died, my dog got sick, and I got a flat tire all in three days. Felt like everything was conspiring against me too. Timing belts are brutal, they always pick the worst moment to quit. Landlords raising rent right after that just adds a whole extra layer of salt in the wound. Hope your buddy’s couch was comfortable at least and things smoothed out for you since then.
