Warning: How I stop conspiracy talks from ruining game night
I mean, maybe it's just me, but my buddy always brings up 5G myths during board games and it kills the vibe. Idk, I started asking for his sources in a curious way, like 'oh, where did you see that?'. It makes him pause and think instead of argue, and we get back to playing faster. Now I do this anytime wild theories come up, and it saves the fun.

What if they actually bring a source, though? Does that change how you handle it next time?

That's actually a really smart way to handle it without starting a fight! Does your friend ever come back with actual sources, or does he usually just drop it and move on? I've found that asking "where did you see that?" works because it makes the person explain their own info loop out loud, which often sounds silly even to them. It totally saves the game night vibe.
