Shoutout to the 500th dent I pulled from a minivan door

I was working on a 2012 Honda Odyssey that came in with a huge shopping cart ding on the sliding door. After I finished the pull and was sanding the area, I realized I'd just fixed the 500th door dent of my career. I actually counted them in my logbook from the past five years. It felt weird to hit that number on something so normal. Has anyone else kept track of a random repair count like that?

My simple password reset turned into a two-day security rabbit hole

I tried to log into an old forum account yesterday, but the recovery email was from a service I shut down years ago. I spent about four hours digging through old notebooks and backup drives for any clue, which was a total bust. The real kicker was when I found a text file with a password hint that just said 'think of the dog', but we never had a dog. I finally had to contact the site admin directly and verify my identity with a photo ID and a utility bill. Has anyone else gotten locked out because of an old email they can't access anymore?

My old boss in Sacramento always told me to never top a valley oak, but I saw a crew doing it last week.

He said it would just cause a ton of weak, fast-growing water sprouts and could actually kill the tree over time. I watched a company near Folsom cut the main leaders back by about eight feet on a big one, and it looked awful. Has anyone else had to explain to a client why topping is a bad idea after they saw someone else do it?

Warning: How I stop conspiracy talks from ruining game night

I mean, maybe it's just me, but my buddy always brings up 5G myths during board games and it kills the vibe. Idk, I started asking for his sources in a curious way, like 'oh, where did you see that?'. It makes him pause and think instead of argue, and we get back to playing faster. Now I do this anytime wild theories come up, and it saves the fun.
