Watching a foreman point at a blueprint for 20 minutes before saying "just wing it" broke something in me.
I was on a job site in Austin last Tuesday when I saw the whole crew lose two hours because nobody had a printed spec sheet for the foundation bolts, and it made me wonder how many of you actually keep a paper backup on hand or am I the only one who still carries a binder?

I watched my dad lose a whole weekend on a deck build because he trusted his tablet and the battery died at the lumber yard. That was back in 2018 and now I keep a spiral notebook in my truck at all times. The thing is, people act like paper is old school but it never runs out of battery and you don't need a signal to read it. Same reason I still write my grocery list on a sticky note instead of an app. There is something about having a physical copy that makes the information feel real and not just something that could disappear with one update or crash.

Your dad's story hits close to home, I've been in similar spots with dead batteries and lost plans. Paper never lets you down when you need it most.
