The 4 p.m. Friday email that almost nuked our product launch
Last month, our comms team had a big product launch set for Monday morning. Everything was locked, approved, and scheduled. Then at 4 p.m. on Friday, our legal lead sent a last-second edit changing three key phrases in the press release. I panicked because our social posts, internal newsletter, and customer emails all referenced the old wording. I stayed an extra hour updating everything, but the internal Slack notification still had the old line. One employee screenshotted it, and it made its way to a client before we could fix it. We got lucky, the client laughed it off, but it taught me to add a hard cutoff for edits, no exceptions after noon on launch week. Has anyone else dealt with a late-stage edit that slipped through the cracks like that?

Man that sucks, I've been there with last minute changes and it always feels like one little thing slips through no matter how careful you are. Good on you for setting that cutoff, it's the only way to keep your sanity.
