I finally looked up the real cost of a color correction gone wrong

I was reading a salon business blog and they had a case study from a place in Tampa. A single botched platinum job that needed a full correction took 8 hours across two visits and cost the salon over $300 in product and labor, not even counting the refund. That's a full day's pay gone because someone rushed the formula. It made me check my own color notes way more carefully. How do you guys price out corrections to make sure you're not losing money on them?

Damn, that's a brutal loss for the salon.

Tell me about it. Saw a stylist at my old shop fry a client's hair trying to go from box black to blonde in one go. The fix needed two extra assistants just for the foils and used a whole bottle of Olaplex. The salon ate the cost and the stylist basically worked for free that week. It's a huge wake-up call to never skip the test strand.
