I've been mixing my own toner for years and just found out my ratio was off
A client brought in a photo from 6 months ago and her hair color looked completely different, even though I used the same formula card. I finally checked my measuring beaker against a new one from Sally Beauty and mine was marked wrong, adding almost 10% more developer. How often do you guys check your tools for wear and tear?

Oh man, that's a brutal way to find out. I once used a faded color chart for a month before realizing the reds looked more like pinks. Now I check my mixing bowls and my shears for nicks every Monday. If the numbers are even a little rubbed off, that thing goes in the trash. A worn out tail comb cost me a perfect section once too. It's the little things that sneak up on you.

Damn right, @drew_jenkins54, letting a single worn-out tool slide can wreck your whole week's work.
