Question about a salon I visited in Boise

I was at The Velvet Comb on Main Street last week and noticed they use a lot of disposable tools, like single-use nail files and mascara wands. It seemed like a lot of waste, but I guess it's for safety. Do you think that's becoming the new standard, or are there better ways to handle sanitation?
