Swapped my cheap drugstore scissors for a $150 pair from a beauty supply shop and the difference in my haircuts was night and day even for simple trims.
For two years I thought my hand was just getting tired and my cuts were coming out jagged because of that, but after one afternoon with proper shears I realized the old ones were pulling the hair instead of slicing it cleanly, so has anyone else dealt with that learning curve or am I alone here?

Totally get what you mean. I had the exact same thing happen with my kitchen knives a few years back - bought a cheap block set and wondered why my arm hurt so bad after chopping vegetables, then upgraded to one decent chef's knife and it was like a whole new world. The pulling thing is real, and it makes your hands work way harder than they should have to. It's not your fault the cheap ones were fighting you the whole time. Good tools just let you focus on actually doing the thing instead of wrestling with the equipment.

Right? It's like a bad relationship where the tool gaslights you into thinking you're the problem. "Oh, you're just not strong enough to cut this onion." No Karen, you're just a dull piece of stamped metal shaped like a knife. I still have my old cheap block set as a reminder. They sit in the back of the cabinet like a warning to future me.
