Switched from foil highlights to balayage on a client last week and the difference was night and day

I usually do foils for blonde clients but tried a freehand balayage on Sarah instead and the grow-out looked way softer after just one wash. Has anyone else found that balayage saves you time on touch-ups or am I just slow with foils?

Read a stylist blog that said balayage basically pays for itself in reduced upkeep time, and after trying it, I totally see why. Your roots just melt away instead of growing out harsh.

You know what, I was totally skeptical at first too. I figured balayage was just a fancy way to charge more for highlights. But after trying it last year, my mind completely changed. The grow out is so much softer, I can go like 4 months between appointments and nobody can tell.
