Vent: My close call with wind shifts at the old factory lot

Honestly, I was on site at the old factory lot last Tuesday when a gust came out of nowhere. Tbh, it shook the load pretty bad. Ngl, I thought I might drop it. But I remembered a trick from an old timer. Now I always keep an eye on the trees nearby. If the leaves start moving fast, I slow the lift. It's saved me a few times since. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone else.

Relying on tree leaves for wind changes is a flawed method. Trees might be too far from the actual lift point to give accurate info. A sudden gust can arrive without any leaf movement nearby. Proper equipment like handheld wind meters gives exact readings at the boom tip. Counting on an old trick ignores modern safety technology that prevents accidents. You could be setting yourself up for a real problem by trusting nature over instruments.

You're right, sudden gusts can catch you off guard.
