My writing app crashed and deleted 3,000 words right before a contest deadline
It happened last Thursday night around 11 PM, right as I was finishing a short story for a local library contest. I was using WriteRight Pro, and the whole program just froze and quit without saving. Some people say you should always use cloud backup, but others think local software is more reliable if you save often. Which backup method do you trust the most for your work?

My laptop ate a whole chapter once. I save to my desktop and email myself a copy after every writing session. Double backup is the only way my dumb luck doesn't ruin everything.

Cloud backups too, @webb.blake. Triple safety net.
