Hit 200,000 miles on my old pickup this morning and felt weird about it

My 2003 Ford Ranger rolled over to 200k on the way to a supply run over in Oakville. That thing has outlasted two marriages and a dozen guys who said it wouldn't make it past 150k. Anyone else get strangely attached to a vehicle that should have been junk years ago?

Call me crazy but 200k just means it's finally broken in and ready for real work, not a reason to get sentimental. That old Ranger is probably just starting to pay you back for all the maintenance.

Nah you're absolutely right. 200k is just the warmup lap on these old trucks. That Ranger's got another 100k easy if you treated it right.
