I told myself I'd NEVER go back to that laundromat, and then my washer died at 9pm
Last Tuesday my ancient washing machine finally gave up mid-cycle. Water everywhere, right when I had a work shirt I needed for Wednesday morning. I was SO mad because I swore off that laundromat on 5th street after some guy left his socks in a dryer I used last year. But I had to suck it up and go at 10pm. The place was empty, machines worked fine, and I was in and out in 45 minutes for $4.75. Am I dumb for being this annoyed at a place that actually saved me?

The real question is why that guy's socks bothered you more than a flooded floor...

Wait, are you saying the socks thing was the bigger deal to me? Because that's not quite right. The socks just caught my attention because they were so out of place, but the flooded floor was the real problem. I think I mentioned the socks first because it was easier to joke about than the mess. But trust me, watching water creep across the whole floor was way more stressful than mismatched socks. The socks were just a weird detail that stood out in the middle of all that chaos. So it's not that they bothered me more, it's that they were the one thing I could actually laugh at.
