That coffee shop tip about cold brew ratios blew my mind

I was at Groundswell Coffee on 3rd Street last week and the barista told me they use a 1:8 ratio of coffee to water for their cold brew. I had always done 1:4 and wondered why mine was so bitter. She said the longer steep time extracts more flavor so you need less coffee. Has anyone else tried messing with their ratios and gotten better results?

1:8 is the sweet spot for me too. Tried 1:10 once and it came out watery even after 24 hours. The extraction time matters just as much as the ratio.

Watery is the worst, totally agree on that.
