Was dead set against meal kits until my fridge died midweek

I spent years rolling my eyes at those meal kit ads, thinking they were just for rich people who couldnt chop an onion. Then my fridge went out on a Tuesday in July, right after I'd done my big grocery run. Lost about $90 worth of food, and I was staring at a week of takeout or PB&J. My coworker Kate dropped off one of her Hello Fresh boxes she wasnt gonna use, and I figured why not. Cooked up this salmon thing in 20 minutes, no extra shopping, and it actually tasted good. Now I'm not saying I'm a convert for life, but it got me through that week without losing my mind. Anyone else have a situation where you had to eat your words about something you swore you'd never try?

Yeah I read somewhere those meal kit companies are actually pretty good for emergency situations like that.

Reminds me when my power went out for a week and I lived off canned chili.
