My boss finally gave me a real reason for the bad review scores
For a year I've been a front desk clerk at the Sunview Motel. Every month my review score from guests was just okay, never great. I figured it was just the job. Last Friday, my boss pulled me aside and said, 'Olivia, you're efficient, but you sound like you're reading a script. Guests feel like a number.' That hit hard. I realized I was just going through the motions, saying 'check-in is at 3' on autopilot. This week, I started asking one real question to each person, like if they're here for the hiking trails or just passing through. It takes ten seconds. The difference is crazy. Two guests already mentioned me by name in good reviews. Has anyone else had a simple piece of feedback totally flip a routine part of your day?

Funny, I got the same note about my voicemail greeting sounding like a robot. Changed it up and my mom actually left a message for once.

Heard a friend's greeting once and thought it was a fax machine.
