TIL my 'work from anywhere' setup was costing me clients

I was in Medellin last month and a potential client on a video call asked me to turn my camera on, but the cafe behind me was so loud he couldn't hear my pitch. He just said 'call me when you're in a real office' and hung up. How many of you have lost work because your background wasn't professional enough?

That Medellin cafe... was it a chain or a local spot?

Oh man, @the_joel, that's a solid question. Honestly, it was a local spot called Pergamino in the El Poblado area. They roast their own beans right there, so definitely not a chain. Tbh, you can't go wrong with their pour-over.
