Found a crazy old price list for garage doors while cleaning out my dad's shed
I was helping my dad sort through his old toolboxes and found a 1987 catalog from a local lumber yard. It had a full page of garage doors, and the cheapest single steel door was listed at $127. I just paid over $800 for a basic one last fall! I knew things got more expensive, but seeing the actual numbers from back then really hit me. It made me think about how much more we do ourselves now because of costs like that. Has anyone else come across old receipts or ads that show how much prices have jumped for garage stuff?

Stumbled across my grandpa's 1979 building supply receipt last year. A sheet of half inch plywood was $8.50. That same sheet is pushing $70 now at the big box store. It really changes how you plan a project when the materials cost more than your car payment.
