Warning: my garage floor epoxy job looked amazing for a week

I spent a whole weekend prepping and putting down that Rust-Oleum RockSolid kit, following the instructions to the letter. It was smooth and shiny, like a showroom floor. But after about six days, I started seeing these weird cloudy patches near the door where my car tires sit. I think maybe the concrete wasn't totally dry underneath, even though I waited the 72 hours they said. Has anyone else had this happen and fixed it without starting all over?

My neighbor had the exact same thing happen with his floor. Those cloudy spots by the garage door showed up after a week, right under where his truck parks. He ended up calling the company, and they told him the concrete needs to breathe longer than the kit says, especially in a damp climate. He had to grind the bad spots down and re-coat just those areas. It was a huge pain, but it did fix it.

Actually think the cloudiness might be from tire oils, not moisture. Those chemicals can seep up through fresh epoxy if it's not fully cured. Try cleaning the spots with a strong degreaser before you start grinding anything down.

My old apartment garage had this exact issue, the cloudiness only showed up under the tires of heavier vehicles like SUVs. The landlord tried a solvent wash but it came back, turns out the concrete slab itself was too cold when they applied the epoxy. If the surface temp is below the minimum on the can, even by a few degrees, the cure gets weird and lets stuff bleed through later. A cheap infrared thermometer could rule that out before you start grinding.
