Warning: spent $200 on a nicer drafting stool and it wrecked my old setup completely

I finally gave in and bought a used Hag Capisco stool off Facebook Marketplace for $200 (they are like $600 new, yikes). My old stool was just a basic $40 office chair from Staples that I'd had for like 8 years. The difference is honestly wild - my back stops hurting after 6 hours hunched over a table, and I can actually lean forward without the thing tipping. But here's the thing: it's too tall for my standard drafting table now (you know, the old adjustable kind). I had to put cinder blocks under my table legs to raise it up by 4 inches. So I spent money to fix one problem and created another. Has anyone else dealt with a stool that's too tall for their setup and found a way around it without buying a whole new table?

Laughing at the cinder block solution because that's such a classic "I'm an adult with a real job and this is my life now" move. You basically turned your drafting table into a lifted truck, hope you didn't scratch the floor. At least now you've got a nice stool AND a free arm workout every time you sit down. Maybe just lean into it and call it your "custom ergonomic height adjustment system.
