PSA: I thought using a laser level for framing was just extra work until a job in Spokane.

My crew was doing a big basement finish and the lead guy insisted on setting up a laser for every stud. I figured it would slow us down, but after three walls we were actually moving faster. The lines were dead straight the first time, so we saved hours on fixing small mistakes later. Has anyone else had a tool they thought was a gimmick turn out to be a game changer?

Wasted a whole day trying to eyeball a long header before caving and buying one. The laser paid for itself by lunchtime the next day. I'm not a smart man.

Totally agree, laser levels are one of those things you never want to go back from once you try them.

Thought it was extra until I tried it.
