Serious question, do you still use a physical code book or have you switched to digital?

I was cleaning out my work van last week and found my 2017 NEC code book. It's full of sticky notes and highlighter. I realized I haven't opened it in over a year because I use the app on my phone now. It's faster to search, but I feel like I don't know the layout of the book itself anymore. Anyone else feel like they've lost some code knowledge by going fully digital?

Yeah, @maryp18 nailed it, it's a different skill now. I keep my old book in the truck just to flip through sometimes so I don't totally forget where things live.

Totally get what you mean about losing the layout. Finding that old marked up book is a weird feeling. My brain used to just know where certain sections were from flipping through it so much. The search function is a lifesaver for speed, but it does make you a bit lazy about remembering the actual structure. It feels like a different kind of knowing now, more about finding the answer fast than having it in your head.
