Warning: spent 4 hours chasing a phantom trip on a 3-year-old panel in Elmhurst last Tuesday

Turns out a loose neutral on a GFCI breaker in the basement laundry room was causing the whole kitchen circuit to drop intermittently, and now I always check the neutral bar first before pulling anything apart - has anyone else had a neutral cause more headaches than a hot wire?

Bet my money on a bad breaker every time, then spend three hours chasing my tail. Neutral issues are the gremlins of the electrical world, for sure.

You ever had a loose neutral bite you so bad you swore off them for a while, @stellas56? I used to always blame the breaker first, but now I’m with you-neutral issues are the real head-scratchers.
