Good point from @campbell.sean about forums. It's wild how much niche knowledge just gets locked away or lost over time, not just with old gear.

Try the right forums, they usually have manuals.

Forget manuals, half the time you find a forum thread from 2007 and the last post is "never mind, fixed it" with no explanation. Lost knowledge? Most of it is just someone's weird setup that broke one Tuesday. People act like every old piece of software is some lost treasure. Usually it's just junk that rightly got replaced.
