Just had a client in Dallas tell me my facial massage was 'too aggressive'

She said it felt like I was 'kneading dough' during the extraction phase, which honestly stung. I've been doing this exact pressure for 8 years without a single complaint. Has anyone else had a client completely misinterpret a standard technique?

Okay but hear me out. Maybe the client wasn't "misinterpreting" anything. If it felt like kneading dough to her, then that's just how it felt, full stop. Eight years of one way doesn't mean this person's face is wrong. Skin changes, people have different pain levels, and what's standard for you might be too much for someone else. You gotta listen to the feedback even when it stings, because her experience is just as real as your technique.

Honestly, that feedback is a gift. It means she trusted you enough to say something instead of just never coming back. Maybe just check in a bit more on pressure with new clients from now on.
