My client who's a nurse told me her skin got better after she stopped using a $75 serum I recommended.

She said the simple drugstore moisturizer her mom uses worked better for her redness. Has anyone else had a go-to product totally flop for a specific skin type?

Honestly, that happens way more than people admit. Saw it with a super popular vitamin C serum that broke my sister out but cleared up her friend's skin. Makes you realize skin is just so personal. Sometimes the fancy stuff has an ingredient that one person's skin just hates, while a basic lotion without any frills does the job. Tbh it's why I'm scared to recommend anything expensive now.

Ugh so true, @jordanm19. But tbh the price tag doesn't always mean better or worse, it's just about finding what your skin likes. My cheap moisturizer works better than any fancy one I've tried.
