That video game detail from 2018 that finally clicked for me at 2am last night
I played this indie horror game called 'The Static Speaks My Name' back in 2018. It's about a guy who paints a picture of a shrimp and then slowly loses his mind. Took me about 3 years to realize the shrimp is a reference to a real event where a scientist force-fed a shrimp to a mantis shrimp. That detail made the whole game way darker once I connected it to the main character's obsession. Has anyone else had a game detail hit them way later like that?

3 years to realize" is wild, but yeah, once you see it you can't unsee it.

Fair enough, @emmajackson, but I see it differently. Maybe that pattern is just a trick of the mind, like when you stare at something too long and start imagining things. People change and grow over three years, so what looks like a "pattern" might just be a few bad days or different situations. If you go looking for problems, you will always find them, even where they don't really exist. Sometimes it is better to give folks the benefit of the doubt rather than reading too much into every little thing they do. I think this whole "can't unsee it" idea can actually make you more negative and judgmental over time.
