Just realized my road trip to see glass studios started a huge argument in my shop

Honestly, some of us think traveling to see how others work is key for growth, but the rest say you should master your own local style first. Tbh, where do you all stand on this?

That whole trip sparked a massive blowout? Ngl that's wild for a studio that's usually chill.

What is it about trips that always sparks huge fights in otherwise calm groups?

Has a friend's travel ever sparked a big fight in your group? My pal went to visit some glassblowers in another city, and his whole studio got mad. They accused him of not respecting their local methods, but he mixed what he learned with their style and now their work is way more popular. It just shows that seeing other ways can make your own stuff better, not worse.
