The weird clicking sound in my 2015 Civic turned out to be me keeping the key fob too close to the steering column for 3 years.
My buddy was borrowing my car to run to Lowes and he called me five minutes later laughing saying I had been driving around with the ignition immobilizer sensor being triggered by the fob being in my left pocket right next to the column, and now I feel like an idiot - has anyone else missed something obvious like that for way too long?

Drove my old Ford Focus for two years thinking the check engine light was just a quirky feature Ford put in to remind you to drive faster. Turned out it was actually telling me the gas cap was loose the whole time. Felt like a real genius when the mechanic just twisted it a quarter turn and the light went out. At least your clicking sound is way more interesting than my gas cap saga. Makes me wonder what other obvious stuff I'm completely missing right now.
