Rant: Lost a whole weekend to a stripped bolt on my 78 F-100

I spent 14 hours straight Saturday trying to extract a rusted body mount bolt. Broke two extractor bits and a drill bit before I gave up and just cut the whole mount off with a grinder. Anyone else ever just abandon the "proper" way and go full demolition on a stuck bolt?

oh man that sounds like a nightmare weekend right there. i gotta ask though, when you were cutting that mount off with the grinder, did you worry at all about messing up the frame rail underneath or the surrounding metal? because i swear every time i break out the grinder for something like that my luck goes bad and i end up taking off a chunk of metal i really needed to keep. just curious if you had a plan for that or if you just went for it like i usually do.

Oh man, I feel your pain. @jason958 I was so fed up by hour 10 that I just went full send with the grinder and didn't even think about the frame rail until after. Lucky for me I only took off the bolt head and a little bit of the mount bracket, frame was fine. Did the same thing on my 72 F-100 last year and learned to keep a cutoff wheel handy for backup.
