Question about the farmers market downtown on Saturday morning

I stopped by the new farmers market on Main Street and noticed half the stalls were selling crafts and jewelry instead of actual produce. Which side are you on - should markets stick to food only or is the mix part of the charm?

Have to respectfully disagree on this one. The mix is what makes a farmers market worth going to. If I just wanted vegetables I could hit up the grocery store or a produce stand. The handmade stuff, the local honey, the fresh bread, that's what turns a boring errand into something you actually look forward to on a Saturday. Plus those craft stalls are often run by the same families selling produce, they're just stretching out their income. You want to kick them out so they can't make rent? Seems pretty narrow minded to me.

Get there right when it opens if you just want produce, the craft people usually don't show up till later.
