Serious question, has anyone else had a generative AI just... forget its own rules mid-conversation?

I was testing a new image generator for my property listings last week, asking it to make a simple living room. After three good images, I asked for one with a blue sofa. It gave me a picture of a blue sofa floating in a starry sky, with a tiny house planet below it. I mean, it was cool, but not what I asked for at all. I had to go back and rewrite my prompt three times to get it back on track. Has anyone found a good way to keep these models from going off the rails like that?

Blue sofa floating in a starry sky" is the perfect example. I used to think they just needed clearer rules, but now I see they can just lose the plot. It feels like talking to someone who gets distracted by a shiny object.
